Util is a Lisbon-based furniture and accessories brand. We create everyday objects for a more rewarding contemporary life. For that, we rely on a carefully selected group of designers working together with the know-how of local manufacturers. Our pieces are designed to make people feel welcomed and at ease in their surroundings. We believe that objects should be more than beautiful, they should be meaningful.

Is a berlin-based design duo formed by David Geckeler and Frank Michels. Both designers met during their studies and founded their studio in 2013. Since the beginning, the duo is working on designs in the field of furniture, tableware, lighting and accessories. GECKELER MICHELS’ eclectic style matrix ranges from german design roots, Berlin playfulness and a self-evident awareness for a global style in design aesthetics. Conceptual approaches are being combined with functionalist purity and simplicity in order to form everyday life objects with long lasting quality and appeal.

Is a german designer based in Paris. In 2010 he received a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture, and in 2012 completed a master’s degree in product design at Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL). Since then he has been working as an assistant for Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. As an independent designer and observer he is developing precise objects with a passion for materials and manufacturing. In 2013 he designed “Petit Central” – a table light made of a marble base and a freely rotatable light source.
Manuel Amaral Netto
Graduated from ESAD-Cr in 2006 acquired a master in Design Products at ECAL, Lausanne, in 2013. Co-funds From Industrial Design in 2014 and it presents their first collection during the Salone Satellite where they win the 1st prize with Volta Lamp. He has since then worked for a variety of different brands and institutions such as Cassina (it), USM (ch), Leucos (it), Baccarat (fr) AICEP (pt) or Vista Alegre (pt). He has since 2015 taken over the creative direction of UTIL.
